Sheriff’s deputies were requested to an Alton hospital at 3:19 a.m. where Nicole L. Mitchell, 24, told them she met a man at a bar in Cottage Hills and gave him a ride home. It was there, she said, that the man sexually assaulted her.

After looking into the case investigators determined that Mitchell’s story and the evidence do not line up. They reported that her claims were false and that no sexual assault had occurred.
